Sizzla has not died. Sizzla Kalonji battled a fake car crash accident report in October 2011. Last night, that same fabricated death story resurfaced, angering fans. For unexplained reasons, persons on social media have been consistently retweeting the fabricated car accident story since last night. Yet, Sizzla Kalonji is not dead today June 23, 2012.
When the fake Sizzla Kalonji death story surface last year, it was unlike any previous attempt to kill off a celebrity. Unlike other celebrities, Sizzla at the time was not actively using social media on a daily basis. Hence the absence of comments by Sizzla on October 15 allowed the fake death story to confuse fans.
Today is no different. With little or no social media activity by Sizzla this week, the fake death report resurfaced on Friday. The author is Global Associated, aka Media Fetcher. And while the fabricated report is not unique, it is prompting massive confusion today.
On Twitter Saturday, fans have been irate about the fabricated tales. “Sizzla been dying in car crashes for about 5 years now” said one fan. Another, however, wrote “R.I.P Sizzla, ironic how you died in a car crash.”
The cause of the confusion is Global Associated. In fall 2011, the website posted the fake death car crash story. Today, dubious Twitter users are trying to send that old, and fake, story viral. “Witnesses have stated that Sizzla Kalonji’s car crossed the double lines several times prior to the accident and hit the center lane divider causing the vehicle to flip and roll” reads the false death report.
The fabricated Sizzla report is not unique. The “Route 80″ car crash story has been used innumerable times by Global against music celebrities, from David Guetta to Tiesto to even DJ Pauly D. The troubling report even claim that funeral services have been planned. “The service is expected to be a closed casket funeral
