Plans for I Am Legend 2 are still moving forward despite several obstacles delaying the project.

Screenwriter Akiva Goldsman says the team remains determined to get the sequel made, although he did not reveal what issues have slowed production.

Will Smith is expected to return for the sequel, with Michael B. Jordan also attached to the project. Smith previously confirmed that the two have met to discuss their characters.

The sequel was first announced in 2022, but no release date has yet been confirmed.
