Rand B singer Chris Brown’s former housekeeper Maria Avila has accepted a reduced $9.5-million award over a 2020 dog attack at the singer’s Los Angeles home.
A jury had initially awarded Avila $12.9 million, but a judge ruled that amount was excessive.
The judge found evidence of lasting emotional distress and some persistent pain, but insufficient evidence for extensive permanent nerve damage.
Avila’s sister will retain her separate $885,000 award for emotional distress after witnessing the attack.
