Cristiano Ronaldo has apologised for leaving Portugal’s training camp following a disagreement with national coach Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo says tensions began after he was asked to prepare to play against Norway but was ultimately left on the bench. He accused Jesus of breaking his word and said their relationship suffered as a result.

The 41-year-old accepted responsibility for leaving camp and apologised to his teammates, acknowledging that he could face disciplinary action.

Ronaldo stressed that he has not retired from international football and intends to remain available for Portugal.
