‘Black Panther 2’ To Start Filming In July!
In July 2018, people all across the nation and world felt a great sense of pride with the release of Black Panther.
The impact of seeing a mostly all Black cast in a film, which depicted Africa as a special place, with a strong super hero was imagery that will have an impact for a generation.
Unfortunately the film, and its future took a hit when leading man Chadwick Boseman who played T’Challa tragically passed away after a battling colon cancer in August.
The good news, is that the film is set to start filming in Atlanta in July according to The Hollywood Reporter. Reports say Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett will all return to the film.
While the plot is still yet to be known in Boseman’s passing, the comic books may have given us a look into what the future will be like in Black Panther 2. The comic books suggest that Wright’s character, Churi who plays T’Challa’s sister will take over as the Black Panther.
Earlier this week, executive producer of Black Panther, Victoria Alonso denied rumors of a digitized version of T’Challa.
“No. There’s only one Chadwick, and he’s no longer with us,” she said. “Sadly, our king has died in real life, not only in fiction, and we’re taking a little time to see how we continue the story and how to honor this chapter of what has unexpectedly happened to us, so painful and terrible to be honest.”
We will see, but it is exciting to see this film back running as it is important not only to the Marvel Universe but to many of our children to see as well!
