The Barbados Tridents are now just one victory away from securing a place in the Caribbean Premier League playoffs after defeating the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots by four wickets at Kensington Oval.
South Africans Chris Green and Quinton de Kock led the way for the Tridents. Green claimed four wickets for 20 runs as the Patriots were dismissed for just 118, despite a fighting 45 from Wanindu Hasaranga.
The Tridents then found themselves in early trouble at 27 for three before de Kock steadied the innings with an unbeaten 44. He received valuable support from Shadrack Descarte and Sherfane Rutherford as Barbados reached 120 for six with two overs remaining.
The victory moved the Tridents into fourth place on eight points with two matches remaining against the Jamaica Kingsmen and Guyana Amazon Warriors. A win in either match will secure a playoff spot.
The defeat officially eliminated the Patriots, who will miss the CPL playoffs for a fifth consecutive season.
