Buju captured boarding flight one day before scheduled release

December 7, 2018

It’s official, reggae artiste Buju Banton, real name Mark Myrie, has been set free.

Video of Banton walking to an airplane bound for Jamaica was released on Friday.

The dancehall superstar was captured by fans who could not contain their excitement.

Banton, a Grammy award-winning entertainer, was convicted of drug trafficking on February 22, 2011, in Tampa, Florida.

He was set to be released on December 8, however, the United States Bureau of Prisons updated its website overnight and changed his prison release date to “unknown”.

Concerts are already being lined up for the artiste well known for hits songs “Wanna be loved”, “Not an easy road” and other more controversial tunes like “Boom bye bye”, the latter of which has sparked condemnation from the LGBTQI community.
