The authorities did a welfare check on Britney Spears after fans grew concerned after she posted a video of dancing with knives.

According to TMZ, law enforcement sources explain that the initial call for the welfare check was made by a member of the LAPD Smart Team (a group that handles mental evaluations). The sheriff department established from two independent sources Spears was not in any danger physically or emotionally and cleared the call without incident.

Spears spoke out about the video following the welfare check. She explained, “I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!!  Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks.”
