Facebook released a statement following the global outage that has social media in a frenzy.

“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” a Facebook company spokesperson told ABC News.

The statement continues, “sincere apologies to everyone impacted by outages of Facebook powered services right now. We are experiencing networking issues and teams are working as fast as possible to debug and restore as fast as possible..”

Apps including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp have all been down for millions of users since 11:42 a.m. ET, according to outage site Down Detector. Neither the mobile, or web versions of the sites are currently working.
