Jada Pinkett Smith is opening up about her relationship with the late Tupac.

During a recent interview the actress expressed, “the chemistry – it’s about a friendship-love chemistry – trust me,” Pinkett-Smith said. “Let me tell you, don’t think that Pac and I – like I write in the book – we had those moments. I wish I could get people to understand the repelling nature.”

Jada referred to Pac as her soulmate, but in a friendly way. “It was like God made us that way,” she continued.” It was like, look, I’m going to put y’all together, right? Y’all are going to be a dynamic duo. But I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so y’all are not going to be able to get together ’cause that just wasn’t the purpose.”

Jada also revealed that while Tupac was behind bars at Rikers Island, he proposed to her.
