Lil Wayne Is Not Allowed Into The United Kingdom Over Past Criminal Record

June 22, 2022

It looks like Lil Wayne will be removed from another music festival due to his criminal past.

The rapper has reportedly been forced to cancel his performance at the Strawberries and Creem festival in the United Kingdom after he was denied entry into the country.

Event organizers announced that the orders were “directly by the Home Office in a last-minute decision.” They also said, “We are deeply disappointed by the sudden and negative ruling. We have received very minimal notice, and the timing of the decision is of course upsetting for all involved.”

A spokesperson from the Home Office also said in a statement, “Any individual who has been sentenced to a custodial sentence of 12 months or more must have their application refused.”

This statement is allegedly in reference to the “A Milli” rapper’s jail sentence in 2007, where he only served eight months and was released due to good behavior.

A rep for Wayne said, “Due to circumstances out of his control, Lil Wayne won’t be able to perform at the Strawberries & Creem Festival this year.”

It went on to say, “Wayne is very disappointed as it’s been over a decade since he last performed in the UK, and he was excited to be reconnecting with his UK fans. He is looking forward to performing in the UK at a later date.”
