A Kentucky woman is making wild claims that Kanye West telepathically instructed her to steal a car with a child inside.

Reports say that Louisville’s Ricki Smith’s day took a wild turn when she ended up in a car theft debacle involving Kanye West’s supposed telepathic instructions.

Smith told cops that while hitchhiking from Louisville to Evansville, her car broke down, leading her to attempt to open several vehicles in a parking lot. She finally found an unlocked car and took a seat, but the witness who spotted her wasn’t having it and told her to leave.

Undeterred, Smith seized her chance when a woman left her car, which had a child inside. After the witness tried to stop her, the car’s owner returned, yanked Smith out by her hair, and a misunderstanding ensued. Smith tried to explain to the police that Kanye West spoke to her “telegraphically,” not realizing she meant “telepathically” when he allegedly instructed her to steal the vehicle.

Smith was booked in the Vanderburgh County Jail, with her court hearing slated for Thursday (September 5).
